Roving Books' news

A showroom in Leicester

Roving Books is working with Leicester Wholefood Co-operative (LWC), Freehold Street, Leicester,  to make a Showroom for a wide range of fiction, non-fiction, resource and dual language books available every Saturday 9.30am to 5.30 pm, from early in June. Children, parents, teachers and others may make individual purchases using cash, cheques, credit card, Book Tokens, and Xybacard. Or school, nursery, or other institutional purchases can be invoiced, and receive cash discounts or commission in books.

From the begining of the autumn term Roving Books will extend this service to make the Showroom open to schools and other educational institutions by appointment on weekdays. Look out for more news, offers, and events associated with the Showroom.

Even more non fiction books

We are continuing to expand our stock of non fiction books that you can see in your own school or in our Showroom at the LWC. Many schools have found "teachers only bookfairs" a very effective and economical way of buying just the right non fiction (and fiction too!) to meet their needs.

Xybacard lift off!

Roving Books is piloting the use of its revolutionary new internet based saving scheme Xybacard at two schools in Leicester city and county. From the begining of the autumn term Xybacard will have a widespread launch in all those schools who have expressed their enthusiasm for this exiting new project for the promotion of literacy and book ownership to children and young people - irrespective of cultural and financial background.

On-line bookshop

We are working on an on-line bookshop, with September as the target date for implementation. The bookshop will have:

Institutional purchasers will be able to request invoiced orders, and receive discounts or earn commission.

Individual purchases can be made by credit card, or if you want to make every book a bargain, by Xybacard
